Our Team
Most of our apprenticeships sit within our Operations team - the engine room of how we build and deliver the car.
Over three years, you’ll receive expert training, take on real responsibility, and see the difference your work makes to the team every day. You’ll build confidence, skills and purpose as you shape your future with people who are invested in your success.
On The Job Training
Completing an apprenticeship at Williams is the start of something meaningful - a chance to make real impact in our Formula 1 team while building your own career. You’ll blend structured training with hands-on experience, developing the practical skills and confidence that set you up for long-term success.
Depending on your pathway, you may study at Level 3, equivalent to A-levels and the first year of an undergraduate degree (or HNC). We work closely with local training providers so you can balance work and study, earning nationally recognised qualifications as you grow.
Our Community
Being part of the Apprenticeship community is one of the best parts of joining Atlassian Williams Racing. For many, it’s a first step after school - sometimes even a big move to a new place. Although, once you’re here, you’ll quickly find your place in a tight-knit group that trains together, learns from each other, and grows side by side. And it’s not all work.
We promise it's not all work - our apprentices enjoy pizza nights, go-karting and plenty of social events throughout the year, making the experience as fun as it is rewarding.
Our apprenticeship areas
Our rotational Apprenticeship programme offers a range of pathways. Explore each one and choose the route that feels right for where you want to go.
Composites Apprentice
Composites is where we bring the car to life and shape the future of our performance. Our technicians work with advanced carbon fibre to build and assemble key components - from the chassis to wings and impact structures. Every piece is crafted to exact specs for strength, safety, and speed. With ~85% of an F1 car being made from carbon fibre, Composites is fundamental to delivering lightweight precision and race-ready reliability - turning innovation into performance.
Metallics Apprentice
Metallics manufacturing sits at the heart of high-precision engineering, where you make real impact on race-winning performance. Using advanced machining and programming expertise, the team turns complex designs into reality - from full-size car components to 60% wind tunnel models, jigs, fixtures, and even Heritage parts. This is where problem-solving meets cutting-edge technology to deliver parts that meet the toughest standards in motorsport.
Metrology Apprentice
Metrology is the backbone of precision engineering at Williams, and the space to find your place in true accuracy. Working with cutting-edge tools - from micrometers to laser scanners and CNC measuring machines - the team verifies every component to micrometer precision. Spanning composites, metallic inspection, and non-destructive testing, Metrology ensures every washer, wing, and structure is built to perfection, driving reliability and speed at the pinnacle of motorsport.
Assembly & Test & Validation Apprentice
Engineering excellence becomes execution - and where we create our winning formula. Assembly brings together thousands of components into a complete F1 car, ensuring every mechanical and electrical system integrates flawlessly for reliability and speed. Test & Validation then pushes every part through advanced rigs and durability testing to confirm it meets the highest standards before it reaches the track.

People & Culture
"I joined Williams in 2023 and currently work in T&V. I’ve learnt about the production, testing and development of components that impact our performance. More importantly, I’ve discovered we have a great learning atmosphere - there’s always someone willing to offer a hand and share their knowledge, experience and skill."

Test & Validation Apprentice
Resilience & Making an impact
"When considering an apprenticeship at Williams, my two pieces of advice are: first, get your application in - even if you doubt your chances, you’ve got to be in it to win it. Second, get as much hands-on experience as you can. Academia is great, but you need to show your work ethic and your ability to integrate into a team."

People & Connections
"During my time at Williams, I’ve built strong machining skills through my apprenticeship. My first year at college gave me the core engineering fundamentals, and I’ve been able to build on that by learning CNC machining and programming to produce high-quality metallic components. I’ve also learnt how vital teamwork is - asking questions, leaning on the people around me, and growing through shared knowledge."
Rebecca Kearney

Learning & Development
"I applied for the Williams Apprenticeship Programme because I wanted to start my career somewhere that inspires ambition and offers real opportunities to grow. Williams stood out as a place where I could learn from talented people, push myself in a supportive environment, and contribute to work that truly matters. The chance to build my skills in a team that values curiosity, teamwork and potential made it the perfect place to begin my journey."
Amber Fennell

Passion & Teamwork
"The moment I’m most proud of in my Williams apprenticeship was working trackside at the TPC in Bahrain. I’d always wanted hands-on experience at the circuit, and being part of the trackside operation was a huge milestone. It gave me invaluable exposure to the pace, precision and teamwork of a live environment, and reminded me exactly why I wanted to work in motorsport."
Jamie Wilson
Composites Production Apprentice
Clarity & Determination
"My advice for anyone applying for an apprenticeship with Williams F1 is to research the role and be honest about your aims and goals. Make sure you understand the work and truly see yourself enjoying it. And be open about what you want to achieve - it helps others give you the support you need to thrive."
