We’re proud to introduce the Komatsu-Williams Engineering Academy, empowering 10 high-potential students each year with exceptional mentoring and unique opportunities to shape the future of engineering and excel throughout their education.

Applications for the 2026 Komatsu Williams Engineering Academy are now closed.  Students have now been selected for our assessment centre and we're heading to Singapore for the STEM Racing World Finals. Check out the video to understand more about the assessment process.

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF JOINING THE KOMATSU WILLIAMS ENGINEERING ACADEMY? 

As a Komatsu Williams Engineering Academy member you will have access to:

  • An online learning platform with F1 related engineering content
  • A Williams mentor, committed to one session every three months
  • Early Careers opportunities across both Atlassian Williams Racing and Komatsu 
  • A global academy community and network
  • Many other cross company initiatives

WHEN DO APPLICATIONS OPEN AND WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR?

The 2026 Komatsu Williams Engineering Academy applications, through STEM Racing, are now closed. We are look for the brightest and best students, focusing on design and innovation, quality and excellence and team work and communication. 

ARE STUDENTS ABLE TO ATTEND A RACE WEEKEND?

Attending grand prix races is not guaranteed. Working with STEM Racing (previously F1 in Schools), students may get the opportunity to attend the local race, alongside the World Finals. This year students will join Atlassian Williams Racing in Singapore. Details of the 2027 programme schedule will be released next year. 

HOW LONG IS THE ACADEMY?

This will depend upon your year of study and your home country. We have some academy members that are completing their A-Levels and others that are at university. Our learning platform provides engineering insight over the course of three years. We are looking to educate and inspire the next generation of Formula 1 leaders.
