Applications for the 2026 Williams F1 Team Engineering Work Experience Programme are now closed. We do not offer work experience outside this programme. The next intake will open in 2027.
Our programme
Open to Year 10–Year 13 (or equivalent) and first-year university students. Applicants are typically aged 15–19 due to programme design and other elements.
The programme is designed to give you meaningful insight into the diverse engineering roles operating at Atlassian Williams F1 Team. The week will highlight the pathways, skills, and tools that can support your journey towards a future career in the sport.
From concept to chequered flag
Spend five days with us exploring every corner of engineering. From the theory behind our designs, to how the car is built, and ultimately how it performs on track. Meet our experts and hear firsthand how they make real impact and bring their work to life.
Your days will vary from seeing the factory floor in action, to hearing how engineers collaborate with the wider business, to taking on a pitstop challenge or competing against other candidates on our Esports simulators.
Recruitment timelines
Applications for our 2026 work experience programme will open week commencing 23rd of February and close on the 6th March. Please note that we receive a high volume of applications for this opportunity so candidates will be contacted with an outcome by early May at the latest. We ask that you kindly do not contact us for an update ahead of this date.
The programme runs across three weeks in June, July, and August, and we’ll confirm which week you’re allocated at Offer stage. We can’t accept applications outside the application window, so have your CV ready and show us how you want to shape the future of engineering.
Our hiring process

Application
Apply via the Atlassian Williams F1 Team careers website, making sure to upload an up-to-date CV that highlights your passion for engineering and has your education clearly listed. Make your application count.

Online assessment
You’ll be invited to complete an online assessment as part of the process - think of it as your chance to set the pace early on. Please remember that the assessment can only be taken once and must be completed within 5 days of receiving it.

Get creative
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to send us a video application via a link to a platform of your choosing. You’ll be given questions to discuss in your 3-minute video and have 7 days to film and submit.

Shortlisting
We review every application we receive but this can take us some time. You'll hear back from us in early May with the outcome of your application.

FAQs
When can I apply for the work experience programme?
Applications for our 2026 work experience programme will open week commencing 23rd of February and close on the 6th of March. All students will receive the outcome of their application before the end of May. The programme runs June to August for one week over a period of 3 weeks. Unfortunately, we do not offer work experience opportunities outside of this process.
What happens during the work experience week?
The programme runs from 9:30am to 5:00pm. Over five days, you’ll get exclusive behind the scenes access to the Atlassian Williams F1 Team, following how an idea becomes a race ready car through to real world performance.
You’ll explore our museum, visit the race bays and model shop, learn about manufacturing, and discover our career pathways. Working with students from across the country, it’s a great chance to build your network and experience life inside an F1 team firsthand.
I'm at university, can I do work experience or a project?
We’re excited to announce that our work experience programme is now open to first-year university students, giving you the opportunity to bring your engineering studies to life.
If you’re not at university yet, students in Year 10 through Year 13 (or equivalent) are also eligible to apply. Due to the design of the programme, applicants are typically aged 15–19. If you’re beyond your first year of university, we encourage you to explore our placement or graduate opportunities instead.
What support is available?
The work experience programme at the Atlassian Williams F1 Team is an unpaid opportunity. All other early careers roles are paid, with salaries discussed at offer stage. As the programme is held onsite in Grove, Oxfordshire, you’ll need to be available from 9:30am to 5:00pm each day. You can travel by car or use local bus routes from Didcot and Oxford. If you have any extenuating circumstances, please highlight them in your application or speak to a member of our Early Careers team.
What should I include in my application video?
We want to understand what motivates you. This is your chance to take us on a lap of your story - who you are, why engineering drives you, and why the Atlassian Williams F1 Team is where you see your future. Our programme is very popular, so be creative and make sure you stand out. Show us your interests and experiences - whether that’s at a part time job, STEM related projects, volunteering, or rebuilding cars.
