The Williams Racing graduate programme offers you the opportunity to work
for 2-3 years, learning as you go. Depending upon role or department, you may
rotate or specialise in one area, all whilst building transferable skills. Our graduate
programmes start in September, when we introduce you to life at
Williams and your cohort.

technical
Technical graduates add a breadth of knowledge and expertise to the departments they are in. Our technical department is responsible for the theoretical, cutting edge advancements in our performance. Working across all aspects of the car from floor to tyres to front wing and more. This department looks at innovative ways in which we can incrementally enhance Atlassian Williams Racing. Example roles may include Graduate Aerodynamicist, Graduate Design Engineer, Graduate Vehicle Performance Engineer or Graduate Electronics System Engineer.
aerodynamics
Our aerodynamicists are pioneers of innovation, influencing the entire car design and transforming driver feedback into aerodynamic advancements that elevate performance with every lap. We’re focused on precision - refining downforce where it matters most to unlock speed, control, and efficiency. Combined with our Atlassian partnership, driving collaboration, we shape the car and the team for championship-winning form. Our Aerodynamics Department is comprised of subject matter experts across Aerodynamic Development, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Model Design and Trackside Aerodynamics.

From electronics and control systems to mechanical design, data processing, and structural integrity, our experts work as one to deliver race-winning performance. Every component from chassis to bodywork is crafted with precision, powered by collaboration, and guided by a shared passion for excellence. As an Early Careers employee in this area, you could work in Materials, Powertrain, Structures, CBW, Systems Engineering, Design Quality and SSB.

Vehicle Dynamics is at the heart of unlocking car performance through advanced technical insight and predictive modelling. Capturing the complex physics of tyre behaviour, developing models that are integrated into simulation tools, working in this team you will optimise car development and on-track performance. These tools, recreate real-world conditions in a virtual environment, allowing engineers and drivers to test setups, validate new components, train, and refine race strategies. Together, these disciplines form a critical foundation for performance gains, transforming data into competitive advantage.

Performance Systems, comprising of Race Operations and Performance Optimisation, forms the backbone of race execution, focused on turning potential into championship results. Race Operations is the heartbeat of trackside performance, covering critical functions such as Race Engineering, Strategy, Tyres, and Coordination. This team leads the planning and execution of each race weekend, using data-driven insights. Performance Optimisation focuses on extracting every ounce of speed and efficiency, spanning the full race cycle from planning and simulation to live support and post-event analysis.

Flawless co-ordination on and off the track is key within our operational department as we need to keep things running smoothly. The operations department is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring seamless coordination from transporting cars and equipment to managing builds and race day preparation. These teams are vital for us to perform at the highest level. Areas may include Sustainability, Health & Safety, Methods, Procurement, Manufacturing, Assembly, & Test and Quality, as part of our Operations Office. Alternatively, we have roles within Test & Validation and Inventory & Logistics.

The Commercial & Marketing team builds global partnerships, ignites fan engagement, and strengthens the brand that powers our presence on and off the circuit. Finance delivers the insight and control needed to make strategic decisions, managing budgets and cost cap, analysing data, and ensuring long-term sustainability in a fast-paced environment. Meanwhile, Human Resources is focused on building a winning team, attracting top talent, developing future leaders, and shaping a high-performance culture that keeps us competitive.

At Atlassian Williams Racing, the Technology & Innovation Group (TIG) is modernising our tech to sharpen our Formula 1 advantage. Leveraging data, Artificial Intelligence and Atlassian tools, the team speed up development and enhance performance. In a budget-capped sport, smart technology is key to maximising efficiency and every fraction of performance. Departments may include Software Engineering, Enterprise Systems, Strategy & Operations and Data & AI.

heritage
Williams Heritage is where the history of Williams Racing is kept alive. The team restores and maintains legendary Formula 1 cars, some dating back nearly 50 years, using original parts and handwritten notes, like those from 1977 and Mario Andretti’s green sheet from Las Vegas. With over 150 years of combined experience, the engineers and mechanics make sure these cars are race-ready for historic events and private ownership. It’s a place where engineering meets passion, and the past is brought back to life, on and off the track.

Testing
Time to show off your skills. You’ll be invited to complete an online assessment designed to evaluate your skills and capabilities; just like qualifying before race day.
To perform at your best, make sure you're in a quiet environment with a stable internet connection. Please note you can only complete one assessment per department.

Group Interview
It all starts with a conversation and this is your chance to demonstrate your teamwork and collaboration skills just like a pit crew working together. You’ll be invited to an online group task giving you the opportunity to meet the Early Careers team. Show us why you are podium ready.

If there’s a match, you’ll be invited to our headquarters in Grove, Oxfordshire, the home of Atlassian Williams Racing. This is your chance to meet your potential manager, explore our facilities, and take a look behind the scenes of a Formula 1 team.
