Overview of Early Careers and potential roles
Summer placements
Summer placements provide a shorter insight into life at Atlassian Williams F1 Team. Over eight weeks, you will work on specific projects, supporting teams to meet their goals.
You'll join our wider cohort of industrial placement students and graduates to make real impact. Opportunities are available within research and design, operations, aerodynamics and more. Unfortunately, we don't offer summer placements in our business function.

Our placements hiring process
1
Application
Your journey starts here. Apply now via the Atlassian Williams F1 Team careers website, making sure to upload an up-to-date CV and a tailored cover letter that highlights your passion and potential. You can apply to a maximum of 2 roles per department. Make sure you do your research and choose wisely. Make every application count.
2
Testing
Time to show off your skills. You’ll be invited to complete an online assessment designed to evaluate your capabilities, just like qualifying before race day. To perform at your best, ensure you're in a quiet environment with a stable internet connection. Each application requires a separate assessment, though similar tests may allow previous results to be reused effectively.
3
Group Interview
This stage gives you the chance to show how you contribute to a team, communicate under pressure, and work together to reach a shared mission. You’ll be invited to an online group task giving you the opportunity to meet the Early Careers team. Show us why you are podium ready.
4
Online Competency Interview
If successful in the Online Group Task, you'll have the opportunity to progress to an online competency interview, where we can learn more about your technical skills, strengths, and what excites you about the role. You'll also have the chance to discuss your experiences, aspirations, and achievements today too.
5
Meet the Team
If there’s a match, you’ll be invited to our headquarters in Grove, Oxfordshire, the home of Atlassian Williams F1 Team. This is your chance to meet your potential manager, explore our facilities, and take a look behind the scenes of a Formula 1 team. Full details will be shared ahead of time to help you prepare for your visit.
6
Join the mission
Every new team member brings us one step closer to championship glory. After your assessment centre, we’ll update you on the outcome and guide you through the next stage of your journey with Atlassian Williams F1 Team. We’re committed to making the transition smooth, seamless, and as exciting as race day.

Early Careers Awards Ceremony
Our Early Careers employees are integral to our success at Williams F1 Team. To reward the hard work and success of our cohorts, each year we host the ‘Early Careers Awards’, a chance to celebrate and enjoy time with peers and friends.
Prepare & Apply
'Take the time to understand the role before you apply. It'll come across in your application and interview. It's also worth applying to a few different types of roles rather than just one. Beyond that: stay curious, ask plenty of questions, and back yourself.'
Mich Nemec
Manufacturing Project Engineer - Industrial Placement
Speed & Support
'Racing is fast-paced and unpredictable, and that's what makes it exciting. To keep up, you need to stay flexible and adapt quickly. But the real takeaway is teamwork. You can't do this alone - relying on the people around you is what makes the whole operation work.'
Leila Humphrey
Operations Analyst - Industrial Placement
Support & Effort
'Working well as a team matters more than people expect. Being supportive and helping others when they need it always pays off when you need it back. It takes a real team effort to get two cars on track, and that ability to work well with others is one of the most important skills you can bring. My advice for anyone applying for a placement at Williams: bring genuine energy to everything you do. People notice it, and it leaves a lasting impression.'
Freddie Smith
Logistic Operations - Industrial Placement
