Join the Assembly and Test & Validation teams at Atlassian Williams F1 Team, where the final build of our Formula 1 cars brings together the work of over 1,000 people across the organisation. As an Industrial Placement student, you’ll work hands-on with expert technicians to support the build and maintenance of race-ready vehicles. You’ll help integrate mechanical and electrical systems, contribute to component sign-off and servicing, and ensure every part meets the highest standards of safety, precision, and performance.
As an Industrial Placement in Assembly and Test & Validation, you join the team that builds the car sub-assemblies that go on to race. Working to strict engineering specifications, you help keep parts moving smoothly through the wider build and learn the safety and quality standards a Formula 1 car depends on. It is hands-on from day one, and the work you do has a direct line to what happens on track.
- Support the assembly of mechanical, hydraulic, and chassis components to engineering specification
- Prepare, kit, and organise the parts needed for build and sub-assembly stations
- Work from build manuals and technical drawings, and help inspect components against quality standards
- Set up workstations and tooling for upcoming builds, upgrades, and test events, and join team debriefs, showing teamwork and accountability

Qualifications
What we are looking for:
- Working towards a degree in mechanical, motorsport, automotive engineering or a related field
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings, build manuals and engineering documentation
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in hands-on engineering
- Excellent attention to detail, good communication, and a proactive, team-oriented approach
