Williams Racing is seeking a hands-on, proactive Garage Support Technician to support our race team at the highest level of motorsport.

In this role, you will attend between 10 and 19 races so will you will need to be willing and able to travel extensively, ensuring our garage is set up to the required standard ahead of a race event and packed down again with precision and efficiency. You'll be proactively collaborating with different departments to report faults and ensure solutions are implemented in a timely manner and will also play a pivotal role in team Pit Stops and driving performance wherever possible as part of this process.

This role is perfect for someone with a strong mechanical mindset and who has impeccable attention to detail. 

As a Garage Support Technician, your key responsibilities will be: 

  • Event Preparation & Build: Assist with the preparation, loading/unloading, and assembly of event and race equipment, both at the Williams factory and at various events.
  • Pit Equipment Management: Ensure the correct build and disassembly of pit equipment before and during events, meeting all technical and presentation specifications.
  • Operational Support: Assist with key event tasks such as tyre/wheel management and car refuelling at race/test events.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with the Race Logistics Manager, Event Logistics Manager, and Chief Garage Technician to meet event goals and maintain high standards.
  • Personal Standards & Presentation: Represent Williams with high standards of conduct and presentation, both in and out of the garage.

What you bring:

  • A problem-solving mindset and an ability to stay calm under pressure
  • A willingness to travel globally and work in high-intensity environments, including weekends and irregular hours.
  • A team-first attitude and an ability to communicate efficiently and concisely, building relationships with people across different departments within the team.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in loading and securing valuable freight by land, sea and air or having existing Known Consignor authorisation.
  • Previous motorsport experience as a garage technician.

Please note, due to the nature of this role, candidates must not have any criminal convictions. Background checks will be carried out for the successful person to ensure we comply with the CAA's security requirements. You'll also be required to travel extensively, meaning a requirement to work flexibly across often unsociable hours.
