Top tips
- Don’t just focus on work experience in F1. Seek out opportunities in other forms and levels of motorsport, and other engineering-based roles. This will broaden and deepen your knowledge and benefit you in the future.
- Do your research. This may be reading, watching YouTube videos, listening to podcasts, taking part in online courses - what ever interests you the most.
- Keep an eye on our jobs page. Even if you aren’t ready to apply to roles yet, the job descriptions will explain more about what the carious roles entail and what experience you may need one day.
- Experiment to find out what you enjoy. There is no set route to success. This is the perfect time to explore a range of activities and career paths.

FAQs
When can I apply for the work experience programme?
Applications for our work experience in 2026 will be open for two week in February. All students will receive the outcome of their application in March. The programme then runs from April to August, over five weeks. Unfortunately, we do not offer work experience opportunities outside of this process.
What happens during the work experience week?
The programme runs from 9am-5pm each day. Over four days, you will get special behind the scenes access to Atlassian Williams F1 Team. Based in our Experience Centre, you have the opportunity to visit our museum, race bays, model shop, learn about procurement, secure some recruitment top tips and take part in a marketing project, amongst other things. Working with students from across the country - it's a great opportunity to build your network and experience life at Formula 1 team first hand.
I'm at university, can I do work experience or a project?
Unfortunately, we are currently only able to offer work experience to students in years 10 to 13 (ages 14 to 18). If you are at university, you can apply to our placement or graduate opportunities. Due to the nature of Formula 1, we are further not able to support university projects or dissertations at this time.
What support is available?
The work experience programme at Atlassian Williams F1 Team is an unpaid programme. The rest of our opportunities are paid and salaries will be discussed upon offer. As the work experience programme is based in Grove, Oxfordshire, you will need to make arrangements to be available from 9am-5pm each day on site. You can drive or there are local bus routes available from Didcot and Oxford. If you have any extenuating circumstances, please flag these in your application or make a member of our Early Careers team aware.
What should I include in my application video?
We want to learn about you and what your motivations are. The work experience programme is very popular so be creative and ensure you stand out. We recommend that you bring yourself and your hobbies to life. What have you done that will catch our eye? Perhaps you support at your family shop or take part in STEM racing? Maybe you volunteer at your local charity, or have a passion for rebuilding cars? Keep your video to under 5 minutes and don't just talk to the camera.
