Direct Procurement Industrial Placement

Functional Header Description:  

The Operations Office is responsible for the programme management, manufacture and delivery of our Formula 1 cars to our customer, the Race Team. The functional departments within the Operations team work together to ensure that car components are manufactured/supplied to the right specification, quality and delivered on time to be transported to the Race Team. 

Direct Procurement Industrial Placement   

As a Direct Procurement Placement, you’ll play a hands-on role in sourcing high-quality components and services that directly contribute to race car performance. You’ll support the coordination of car parts and services, ensuring timely delivery and value for money. This includes managing a small portfolio of suppliers, assisting with procurement databases, supplier communications, and compliance tasks. This role is ideal for engineering students with strong communication and problem-solving skills, and a passion for motorsport.

Make Real Impact 

• Manage a small portfolio of suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and value for money. 

• Assist with procurement tasks including BOM creation, inventory reporting, and compliance activities. 

• Coordinate meetings, maintain procurement databases, and support supplier communications. 

• Apply your technical understanding to support the manufacture of prototype parts and services.

Find Your Place 

• Bring a background in mechanical or automotive engineering or a strong interest and passion in these areas if not studied formally. 

• Be comfortable with or willing to learn technical drawing interpretation to support procurement accuracy. 

• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. 

• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and lean manufacturing principles is beneficial. 

• Motorsport experience through internships or personal projects is highly desirable.
