Role Purpose (Job Profile):
As a key member of the Operations team, the Quality Inspection Manager will report to the Head of Manufacturing and oversee a team of 4 Team-leaders who manage approximately 21 employees, including Quality control Inspectors, Service Technicians and Apprentices for our Quality Control department. The Quality Control Dept Manager will provide engaging and motivational leadership to the Quality Team Leaders while ensuring alignment with the business’s vision and strategy.
Main Duties:
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of Team leaders, technicians and apprentices to foster a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement in alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to set strategic goals and ensure the Quality department aligns with long-term corporate objectives.
- Support the alignment of technological initiatives between Engineering and Operations to enhance operational capabilities and collaboration.
- Promote personal accountability and self-directed development within the team to achieve and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Oversee talent management activities, including skills matrix development, recruitment, training, employee engagement, performance management, and succession planning.
- Drive employee engagement through active leadership, promoting open communication, and ensuring that training and upskilling initiatives meet business needs.
- Implement and maintain LEAN principles, collaborating with the Continuous Improvement (CI) team to enhance efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with the Head of Manufacturing and the Finance team, ensuring effective financial planning and cost management.
- Collaborate with Design, Methods Engineering and manufacturing to address manufacturability, testability, and inspection challenges while fostering relationships with key suppliers to quality standards.
- Implement and manage equipment and tool calibration process and information database.
- Lead on process adherence, quality, asset ownership and SOPs, collaboration with Materials/special projects. Provide and contribute to strategic Dept direction to support our future QA vision.

- Ensure understanding of cost cap requirements and identify opportunities to improve optimisation.

Qualifications and Experience Level:
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience leading teams in a Quality Inspection or operations environment, with a strong focus on LEAN and continuous improvement.
