The Quality Inspection Team Leader (Weekend Shift) provides day‑to‑day leadership and operational support to the Quality Inspection Manager, overseeing activities across the Composite Inspection, Metallic Inspection and NDT departments. The role is focused on ensuring the quality inspection of both inhouse and subcontracted components to support programme delivery requirements. Candidates from either Quality Inspection or NDT disciplines will be considered, with hands‑on inspection duties aligned to their discipline, performed in parallel with team leadership responsibilities.

Since its foundation in 1977 by the eminent, late Sir Frank Williams and engineering pioneer Sir Patrick Head, the team has won nine Constructors’ Championships, in association with Cosworth, Honda and Renault. Its roll call of drivers is legendary, with its seven Drivers’ Championship trophies being lifted by true icons of the sport: Alan Jones, Keke Rosberg, Nelson Piquet, Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve. The team has made history before and is out to make it again with a long-term mission to evolve and return to the front of the grid.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all manufactured components conform to design specifications using appropriate metrology tools, first‑principles measurement techniques, or NDT methods.
- Support compliance with business‑critical data capture and traceability processes, including TES (Time Evaluation System) and MES (Manufacturing Execution System / MESTEC).
- Monitor departmental productivity KPIs, taking corrective action where required to achieve targets.
- Escalate non‑conforming parts through the NCR process, ensuring issues are clearly documented and progressed.
- Embed and continuously improve metrology or NDT best‑practice processes to maximise efficiency and throughput.
- Own and manage the department’s Operational Performance Management system.
- Provide day‑to‑day management of departmental personnel, including discipline, attendance and timekeeping.
- Identify and implement process and operational improvements to optimise departmental performance and output.
- Ensure thorough and effective shift handovers to maintain continuity and minimise disruption.

- Ensure full understanding of and compliance with Health & Safety obligations at all times.
- Maintain high personal standards of behaviour and professionalism, acting as a positive ambassador for the department.
- Adhere to brand guidelines and ensure consistently high standards of department presentation.
- Work to required quality standards, actively contributing to continuous improvement at both departmental and individual levels.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and compliance with Cost Cap rules and requirements.

This role operates on a weekend shift, Friday to Sunday, working 06:30 to 18:30
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering (or relevant discipline).
- Proven experience working within a Quality Inspection or NDT department.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a small team is desirable.
- Experience within motorsport or Formula 1 environments is beneficial.
