The Operations Office is responsible for the programme management, manufacture and delivery of our Formula 1 cars to our customer, the Race Team. The functional departments within the Operations team work together to ensure that car components are manufactured/supplied to the right specification, quality and delivered on time to be transported to the Race Team.

Sustainability
The Sustainability team at Williams Racing works across the business to integrate environmentally responsible practices into daily operations. Collaborating with internal departments and external suppliers, the team supports the planning, implementation, and monitoring of sustainability initiatives that reduce environmental impact and drive long-term improvements. With visibility across the full operations function, the team plays a key role in shaping how Williams delivers performance both on and off the track. From strategic planning to hands-on support, the department offers a unique opportunity to influence meaningful change at the heart of a Formula 1 team.
Health & Safety
The Health & Safety team at Williams Racing plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-performance working environment across all areas of the business. From the factory floor to the racetrack, the team works proactively to identify risks, implement safety practices, and promote a culture of responsibility and wellbeing. Collaborating with departments across the business, they ensure that all operations meet regulatory standards and support the team’s commitment to excellence. Their work is essential to protecting people, enabling performance, and maintaining the integrity of Williams Racing’s operations.
Methods
The Methods Engineering department plays a critical role in ensuring efficient processing of critical items to the Formula one car. This is done through skilled engineers developing new methodologies to deliver the performance to the car. With a focus on right first time and quality working with our design team, operations and the race team to achieve our shared goals.
Operations Excellence
The Operations team manages Manufacturing, Assembly, and Test, coordinates with suppliers, and oversees logistics to deliver race cars and upgrades to circuits worldwide. They also plan the overall car programme to ensure timely delivery. As Williams pushes to return to the front of the grid, the team leads multiple improvement projects focused on speed, efficiency, and quality ensuring safety and reliability remain at the core of everything we do.
Procurement
The Procurement team delivers performance to the track at every race by sourcing best value, lead time and quality from a supply chain of highly specialised subcontractors manufacturing components to Williams' specification using industry- leading advanced technologies.
Quality Engineering
The Quality Engineering team ensures performance and safety by investigating faults and delivering robust corrective actions. Working around the race calendar, they carry out root cause analysis and implement containment and preventative measures to keep critical components reliable. Their expertise is essential to maintaining high standards across all areas of car build and operations.

Facilities Industrial Placement
Join us in shaping the future of our workplace environments. A Facilities Placement plays a key role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of our buildings. Working closely with the Head of Facilities Delivery, this role offers hands-on experience in managing day-to-day facilities activities, coordinating contractors, and ensuring that maintenance tasks are carried out to a high standard.
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to help maintain an optimal working environment across our sites. In this role, you’ll assist with regular safety and security inspections, support the upkeep of building systems and equipment, and help ensure that all mandatory checks and compliance requirements are scheduled and completed on time.
Sustainability Industrial Placement

Working closely with internal departments and external suppliers, you’ll support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of initiatives that reduce environmental impact and drive long-term improvements. Health & Safety Industrial Placement
Join our Health & Safety team to support the coordination and delivery of essential safety training across Williams Racing. You’ll help maintain accurate records, improve induction processes, and work with internal teams and external providers to ensure a safe and compliant working environment. This office-based role offers exposure to training logistics, systems development, and compliance support contributing to a culture of wellbeing and operational excellence.
Methods/TPP Industrial Placement
Join our Methods Engineering team to help develop and implement efficient processes for delivering performance-critical components to the Formula 1 car. You’ll work closely with design, operations, and race teams to drive improvements in build quality, speed, and reliability. This hands-on role offers exposure to technical problem-solving, project delivery, and innovation in a high-performance motorsport environment.
- Operations Excellence Industrial Placement
This Industrial Placement offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team driving operational excellence across the business. Positioned at the centre of Williams’ ongoing transformation, you'll gain hands-on experience in analysing and refining processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and applying improvement methodologies to deliver measurable impact. It's a chance to build a deep understanding of how the organisation operates while contributing to meaningful change.
Direct Procurement Industrial Placement
As a Direct Procurement Placement, you’ll play a hands-on role in sourcing high-quality components and services that directly contribute to race car performance. You’ll support the coordination of car parts and services, ensuring timely delivery and value for money. This includes managing a small portfolio of suppliers, assisting with procurement databases, supplier communications, and compliance tasks. This role is ideal for engineering students with strong communication and problem-solving skills, and a passion for motorsport.
Quality Industrial Placement
Join our Quality Engineering team to support root cause investigations and drive improvements in safety and performance-critical components. You’ll work closely with engineers and project managers to analyse data, track investigations, and implement corrective actions that directly impact race performance. This hands-on role is ideal for students with a mechanical or automotive engineering background, strong analytical and CAD skills, and a keen eye for detail. You’ll gain exposure to technical problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and the fast-paced world of Formula 1. Motorsport experience through internships or personal projects is highly desirable.

You’ll take on real responsibility with projects that shape the future car and our business. Grow with a cohort from day one, then head back to university with experience you can apply immediately.
