Within Technology & Innovation, our teams focus on:     

Software Engineering 
At Williams, bespoke software tools quietly power performance across the car, delivering impact you can feel, not always see. The Software Development Team creates these tools, working in focused sub-teams to support key areas like Aerodynamics, Vehicle Dynamics, and Vehicle Performance. Together, they turn data into decisions and innovation into speed.   

Enterprise Systems 
The engine - our control centre powering core processes across planning, design, supply chain, manufacturing, and finance. We leverage industry-leading solutions and seamless integration to drive down delivery lead times. We buy the best tools and then build a fully connected system around them. 
 

We are hiring for the following roles:      

• Software Engineer / Data Engineer Industrial Placement 

Join our team at Williams Racing to build and enhance bespoke software solutions that support Engineering and Operations across the organisation. Working in focused sub-teams aligned to areas such as Aerodynamics, Vehicle Dynamics, and Vehicle Performance, you’ll help turn data into decisions and innovation into speed. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to collaborate with engineers, understand user needs, and deliver impactful tools that drive performance.

• Studying a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field involving software development.

• Enterprise Systems - ERP Industrial Placement 

Join our Enterprise Systems team at Williams Racing to support and improve the IT systems that power car performance and delivery. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, resolve issues, and implement system solutions that meet the evolving needs of Engineering and Operations. This placement offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the systems that underpin Formula 1 performance.

• Collaborate with departments across the business to define and deliver system enhancements that improve operational efficiency. 

• Work with our technology partners and internal teams to optimise processes and support performance programmes. 

• Help shape how Williams Racing leverages enterprise systems to meet the demands of a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

• Translate business requirements into deliverable system solutions. 

• Resolve user issues and support data management activities across core systems. 

• Contribute to the development and deployment of improvements to PLM, ERP, and other enterprise platforms. 

• Support the alignment of system processes with strategic goals and operational priorities. 

Find Your Place 

• Studying a degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

• Proficient in Excel, with an understanding of PLM and ERP systems (advantageous but not essential). 

• Logical and analytical thinker with strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset. 

• Able to explain complex topics clearly and collaborate effectively across departments.

• Enterprise Systems - Powerapps Industrial Placement 

Be part of Williams Racing’s Enterprise Systems team, helping design and deliver smart digital solutions that support car design, manufacturing, and performance. You’ll work closely with users to identify system needs, resolve issues, and contribute to the development and deployment of tools that enhance operational efficiency. This hands-on role offers exposure to CAD, ERP, and PowerApps-based systems in a fast-paced motorsport environment. 

Shape the Future 

• Collaborate with users across Engineering and Operations to understand system requirements and deliver tailored solutions. 

• Support the development lifecycle by contributing to system enhancements that improve performance and usability. 

• Help shape how Williams Racing leverages enterprise technology to drive innovation and streamline delivery. 

Make Real Impact 

• Work directly with technical teams to design and implement smart digital tools. 

• Support testing, release processes, and documentation to ensure robust system deployment. 

• Align priorities with business needs and maintain clear communication on progress and outcomes. 

• Contribute to the continuous transformation of enterprise systems that underpin race car performance. 

Find Your Place 

• Studying a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. 

• Experience with C# programming and familiarity with API/JSON integration. 

• Awareness of enterprise platforms such as Teamcenter, NX, and D365 is highly desirable. 

• A self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work within both Agile and Waterfall project environments. 

• Clear communicator with a collaborative mindset and a passion for motorsport technology.

Early Careers
At Atlassian Williams Racing, our Industrial Placement gives ambitious students 12 months inside Formula 1. You’ll take on real responsibility with projects that shape the future car and our business. Grow with a cohort from day one, then head back to university with experience you can apply immediately. Join a high-performance team, push boundaries, make an impact.
