Functional Description

The Systems Simulation team centralises how we model and optimise our systems - from cooling, hydraulics and gearboxes to suspension kinematics and multi-body dynamics.  By embedding first-principles engineering at the core of our work, Systems Simulations deliver accurate, consistent, and innovative simulations that drive performance and reliability. This unified approach accelerates development, validates bold ideas, and helps push the limits of innovation before a single component is built.

Systems Simulations Industrial Placement

As a Systems Simulations industrial placement student, you will support the development of multi-physics system models, covering areas such as mechanical, thermal, and fluid dynamics. Using tools like Python, MATLAB, Simulink, SimScape and Dymola - you will help build and run simulations to solve engineering problems. This role offers the chance to learn from experienced engineers, gain hands-on experience with co-simulation techniques, and grow into a specialist in system-level modelling and optimisation.

Shape the Future

  • Proactively contribute to the development of innovative system-level models
  • Eager to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
  • Collaborate across departments to deliver accurate and consistent simulations

Make Real Impact

  • Build and run simulations to solve real engineering challenges across mechanical, thermal, and fluid domains
  • Use tools like Python, MATLAB, Simulink, SimScape, and Dymola to support system optimisation
  • Communicate findings clearly and effectively to support design and performance decisions
